Phish Studies Conference 2019

We are so excited to be able to participate in the first academic conference to focus on research on the improvisational rock band Phish at Oregon State University on May 17-19, 2019!

It was the announcement of this conference that led to the realization of this project (see the 2019 Conference page for more information) and we will be presenting our ideas in the poster session for the conference. We are planning to publish these ideas in the future.

We look forward to a fun experience of sharing and reflection!

The Journey Begins

…swimming in this real thing, I call life…

post

Thank you for joining us on our autoethnographic journey of our experiences with the band Phish and their community of phans. As we explore our own stories we will guide others through the process and offer a space for the collection of these stories — a place for reflection, contemplation, connection, and inspiration. Through mutal sharing and reflection we can create a diverse tapestry of the stories of our experiences in the ‘Phishverse’ from the perspective of the phans themselves. Our goal is to help foster the unique connections that bind us together and enhance our understanding and interpretations of the ways Phish’s force shapes the creation of our realities.
